Last Update: October 28, 2026
Introduction
The Dance of Knives Rogue is a fast endgame Build that throws a constant stream of knives while moving through enemy packs. Dance of Knives is a Channeled Skill that automatically targets nearby enemies, giving the Rogue powerful area coverage and excellent movement speed. The Star Shards upgrade makes the knives break apart on impact, sending additional projectiles through crowded areas. With enough Energy sustain, the Rogue can keep channeling through most encounters and clear large groups without stopping to attack.
Our setup uses Poison Imbuement to increase damage against elites and bosses. The repeated knife hits apply Poisoning while Grief adds further damage over time to direct attacks. Etna's Lost Dagger improves Imbuement Potency and Non-Physical Damage after dealing different types of elemental damage. Cowl of the Nameless can trigger additional explosions with Imbued hits, improving coverage against densely packed enemies.
The Spellbound Steel Talisman Set provides the final major piece of the damage setup. Its bonuses support Imbued attacks and grant access to additional Imbuements during Inner Sight. Dark Shroud and Concealment protect the Rogue while moving through dangerous packs, and Shadow Clone adds damage against durable targets. Dash gives the character a quick way to reposition and move between groups.
Dance of Knives performs well with crafted Legendary equipment during early endgame, then gains substantial power from stronger Imbuement bonuses, weapon damage and the full Talisman Set. High Movement Speed, Dexterity, Poison Damage, Energy sustain and suitable defensive affixes are the main priorities. The finished character is an exceptionally mobile farmer with strong area damage, although boss fights require careful buff timing and uninterrupted channeling.

Equipment
The primary weapon setup uses Grief and Etna's Lost Dagger. Grief adds Poisoning to direct damage, while Etna's Lost Dagger rewards the different elemental effects supplied by Imbuements. The Rogue wears a two-handed ranged weapon for its damage contribution and an additional Legendary Aspect. Aspect of Channeling is especially valuable because Dance of Knives is continuously channeled.
Cowl of the Nameless is the recommended Helm. It adds Imbuement Skill Ranks and gives Imbued hits a chance to cause an explosion that spreads the active Imbuement effect. For Pants, Shrouded Gift supplies substantial Damage Reduction around Stealth and Concealment. Death's Pavane is an alternative for players who favor collecting dropped knives for extra Energy and Dance of Knives damage.
The Spellbound Steel Talisman Set improves Imbued Skills and lets Inner Sight apply additional Imbuements to attacks. Its five-piece bonus is a major endgame upgrade for this configuration. Until the full set is assembled, Inner Sight provides a useful Energy window, and Poison Imbuement handles most of the build's elemental damage.
Legendary Gloves, Chest Armor, Amulet and Rings provide important Aspect slots. Aspect of Imitated Imbuement works with Shadow Clone, Aspect of Corruption improves Imbuement Potency, and Aspect of Disobedience reinforces damage reduction against packs. Aspect of Alchemical Advantage improves attack speed and Lucky Hit through repeated Non-Physical damage.
For offensive Affixes, focus on Weapon Damage, Dance of Knives Skill Ranks, Dexterity, Imbuement Skill Ranks, Poison Damage, Non-Physical Damage and Movement Speed. Attack Speed increases Dance of Knives damage, and Energy regeneration helps maintain long channels. For defense, look for Maximum Life, Armor, Resistance to All Elements and Damage Reduction. Fist of the Iron Rose and Ring of Starless Skies are optional higher-budget choices that replace the Legendary Aspect on their respective slots.

Add Critical Strike Chance, Lucky Hit Chance and damage multipliers as your weapons improve. Maximum Life, Armor, Resistance to All Elements and Damage Reduction form the main defensive package. On Legendary pieces, favor relevant Imbuement and Movement Speed Tempering bonuses.
Skills
15/15Primary DPS: Dance of Knives launches a continuous stream of knives at nearby enemies while the Rogue moves. Star Shards sends additional fragments through packs and allows the build to scale Marksman bonuses.
Take Star Shards together with Pierce and Size for wider coverage and Slow and Movement Speed to move faster while channeling. Energy Cost Reduction helps during early progression.
15/15Utility/Offence: Poison Imbuement adds Poison damage and powerful Poisoning to Dance of Knives. Its damage remains valuable against elites and bosses that survive several volleys of knives.
Choose Toxic Touch to increase Imbuement Potency and strengthen repeated applications on the same target. Energy provides an additional source of resource recovery.
15/15Utility/Def: Dark Shroud surrounds the Rogue with protective shadows that reduce incoming damage and improve elemental defenses. It is a major defensive tool during close-range channeling.
Use Shadow Dancer for Dodge Chance, then take Consume Chance and Movement Speed to improve protection and mobility. Overflow is an option when Energy sustain is insufficient.
14/15Utility/Def: Concealment grants Stealth, Unstoppable and Movement Speed, allowing the Rogue to escape dangerous attacks and start the next knife channel safely. Shrouded Gift improves survival during Stealth and shortly afterward.
Select Recuperate for Fortify and Knock Down, with Ferocity for additional stacks when leaving Stealth. Energy is a useful alternative during early progression.
1/15Utility/Offence: Shadow Clone creates a copy of the Rogue that attacks alongside her. Aspect of Imitated Imbuement makes the Clone copy the Imbuement effects, increasing damage against stronger enemies.
Take Relentless for longer Clone duration and Ferocity. Weaken and Vulnerable applies useful debuffs when the Clone is summoned.
1/15Utility/Mobility: Dash quickly moves the Rogue through enemies or out of dangerous areas. Use it between groups and to reposition before continuing the Dance of Knives channel.
Pick Primer to enter Stealth at the end of Dash, together with Charges and Cooldown Reduction for more frequent movement. Weaken is a defensive option.
4/15Utility/Offence: Cold Imbuement supplies additional elemental damage and crowd control. In the finished Talisman setup it is learned for Spellbound Steel, while Poison Imbuement remains the main manually activated Imbuement.
Choose Buffered Battery for a chance to gain a Barrier when Cold Imbued hits connect. The Poison version uses Cold Imbuement primarily to unlock the additional Spellbound Steel interaction.
1/15Utility/Offence: Shadow Imbuement causes infected enemies to explode, improving damage against large groups. The Spellbound Steel bonus can apply Shadow alongside other Imbuements during Inner Sight.
Choose Endemic for additional infection damage and cooldown recovery. Further upgrades can strengthen Shadow explosions in a specialized Shadow-focused configuration.
Core Rotation
Activate Dark Shroud and Poison Imbuement, then enter Concealment and begin channeling Dance of Knives into the next pack. Keep moving while the knives target surrounding enemies. Star Shards spreads damage over a large area, while Cowl of the Nameless can trigger additional Imbuement explosions. Use Dash to reach the next group or avoid a dangerous attack.
Against elites and bosses, activate Shadow Clone after applying Poison Imbuement, then refresh Poison Imbuement when available. Maintain Inner Sight to gain its Energy benefits and the additional Spellbound Steel Imbuements. Keep the channel uninterrupted during safe damage windows, and use Concealment to recover positioning when the boss prepares a dangerous attack. High Energy Regeneration and reliable Movement Speed are essential for long fights.
Miscellaneous
Paragon Board
For Paragon, begin with efficient Dexterity, Non-Physical Damage and Maximum Life nodes, then progress through Exploit Weakness, Eldritch Bounty, Cheap Shot and Danse Macabre. These boards support Imbuement Damage, sustained attacks and the control effects that keep the Rogue safe while channeling Dance of Knives.
Exploit Weakness reinforces damage against Vulnerable enemies, while Eldritch Bounty develops the Imbuement package. Use the available Glyph sockets and nearby Rare Nodes to scale Dexterity, elemental damage and survivability. Cheap Shot is useful for damage against controlled enemies.
The Danse Macabre board completes the endgame route with additional offensive nodes. Invest in Maximum Life, Armor and Resistance when entering harder Pit tiers. Movement Speed and Energy sustain on gear keep Dance of Knives active during difficult encounters.
For Glyphs, prioritize Versatility, Tracker, Canny, Devious and Bane. Versatility strengthens Non-Basic and Non-Core Skills, Canny improves Non-Physical Damage, and Bane scales the Poisoning package. Tracker and Devious add further bonuses to the completed Imbuement setup.
Runes
Cir + Ceh provides an accessible Runeword combination. Repeated skill casts generate Offering through Cir, while Ceh summons Spirit Wolves that help distract enemies during long channels.
Bac + Ohm is a second option that uses the Rogue's constant movement to generate Offering and invokes a Barbarian War Cry for extra damage. The two Runewords can be placed in available two-socket equipment, with defensive gems used in remaining sockets.
Talisman
Spellbound Steel is the recommended Talisman Set. Its two-piece bonus supports Inner Sight and Imbued Skill damage, while three pieces supply automatic Potion recovery and Maximum Life. The complete five-piece bonus increases Imbuement Potency and causes Imbueable Skills to apply all Imbuements during Inner Sight. Select the set Charms with useful Dexterity and Imbuement-related rolls.
Inner Sight is the preferred Rogue Specialization for this setup. Its resource benefits allow longer Dance of Knives channels, and Spellbound Steel makes the full Imbuement package available during its active window. When available, use extra Charm slots for a useful Unique Charm or additional defensive stats.
Mercenary
Raheir is the recommended Hired Mercenary with Ground Slam, Raheir's Aegis, Bastion and Inspiration. Ground Slam helps control enemy groups while the defensive buffs protect the Rogue during extended channeling.
For Reinforcement, use Aldkin with Field of Languish. Its slow and damage reduction improve control during Elite and Boss encounters. Varyana with Bloodthirst is a strong option for faster farming.
Final Thoughts
The Dance of Knives Rogue combines rapid movement with powerful Poison-Imbued projectiles. Grief, Etna's Lost Dagger and Spellbound Steel strengthen its damage, while Concealment and Dark Shroud make fast endgame farming comfortable.
