Last Update: October 23, 2026
Introduction

Hero: The Forsaken Iris
Hero Trait: Vigilant Breeze (Iris 2)
Main Skill: Summon Erosion Magus
Damage: Minion Erosion skills and repeated Ultimates
Season: SS14 Tartarus
Erosion Magus Iris 2 lets her summoned spirits handle most of the fighting while she directs them toward the next group of enemies. Merging with a Magus is the feature that makes Vigilant Breeze unusual. Its Ultimate becomes a regular part of the combat loop, and a well-grown Erosion Magus can keep the screen busy through whole stretches of Netherrealm.
Vigilant Breeze has one important investment requirement: Scale of Original Sin is a required Pactspirit for the finished build. Its Scale of Judgment bonus strengthens Spirit Magus Ultimates when any two of Strength, Dexterity and Intelligence are equal. We build around Intelligence while keeping Strength and Dexterity equal, including after changes to jewellery and Divinity Slates. Iris can level with another Pactspirit, but the recommended Ultimate setup assumes Scale of Original Sin is equipped and its condition is active.
Her merged Magi also consume Life during combat, making life regeneration, regain and Growth central to the build. Nourishment of Life helps with the Growth requirement, while the trait package keeps the army fighting. The selected God of Machines tree uses Isomorphic Arms, letting a carefully crafted main-hand weapon contribute directly to the Magi.
Our four talent trees combine Boss and Isomorphic Arms with Source, Burning Aggression and Off The Beaten Track. Nourishment of Life helps Erosion Magi reach their stronger Growth stages, while Dazzling Bloom moves the army onto priority targets. A full Summon Erosion Magus five-link works at Timemark 7; Magnificent and Noble supports then offer upgrades for more advanced setups.
Pros
- Easygoing map clearing with most damage handled by summons
- Excellent room to improve Growth, Enhanced Skills and Ultimates
- Useful team-wide recovery through the Vigilant Breeze traits
- Several clear equipment milestones from T7 to Profound
Cons
- Spirit Magus Life consumption requires a developed recovery setup
- Scale of Original Sin is required for the recommended Ultimate-focused version; its attribute condition must remain active
- Specialized Hero Memories and upgraded Magus equipment can become expensive

1. Vigilant Breeze Hero Traits and Memories
Vigilant Breeze allows Iris to merge into one of her Spirit Magi. Once the build develops, this puts the Magi into a state where their Ultimates can be used repeatedly. The price is continuous Life consumption. Most of our trait decisions improve damage during the merge or make that sustained Life cost manageable.

| Stage | Recommended trait | Why we use it |
|---|---|---|
| Starting Trait | Vigilant Breeze | Enables the merge mechanic and establishes the Spirit Magus combat loop. |
| Level 45 | Breeze's Whisper | Improves Enhanced Skill frequency and adds restoration when the merged Magus uses its Enhanced Skill. |
| Level 60 | Happiest Reunion | Expands the army and makes other Magi count as merged while Iris is in Vigilant, increasing offensive opportunities and Life costs. |
| Level 75 | Nurturing Breeze | Shares important Life regeneration and regain bonuses with the Magi and provides substantial protection while in Vigilant. |
Breeze's Whisper rewards a high chance to use Enhanced Skills. Its recovery becomes particularly valuable as additional Magi join the merged group. Keep an eye on the actual attack cadence during long fights: even strong Life regeneration can be strained when the spirits attack rapidly and consume Life with each action.
Happiest Reunion is the turning point for the build's main mechanic. The additional Magus contributes damage, and the whole group benefits from Vigilant while Iris remains merged. With Nurturing Breeze, bonuses to her regeneration and regain can help keep these enhanced summons alive. The pair is especially appealing once a T7 character has a reliable Life recovery foundation.
2. Talents and Passive Tree
The pictures below show our chosen 107-point allocation, split evenly between God of Machines, Alchemist, Machinist and Lich. We use the exact major talents selected in these trees: Boss, Isomorphic Arms, Source, Burning Aggression and Off The Beaten Track. Together they strengthen the Erosion Magus through Bond, a carefully crafted main-hand weapon, more effective Empower Skills and improved support gems.

| Talent Tree | Points | Major Talents and Their Role |
|---|---|---|
| God of Machines | 26 | Boss (12) unlocks Bond, a stacking buff for the Magi. Isomorphic Arms (24) lets Minions benefit from main-hand weapon bonuses and adds 30% additional Minion Spell Damage while using a Wand or Tin Staff. |
| Alchemist | 30 | Source (24) grants 50% Sealed Mana Compensation for Spirit Magus Skills, 30% additional Origin Effect and 30% additional Empower Skill Effect. The selected minor nodes contribute to the supporting summon package. |
| Machinist | 27 | Burning Aggression (24) raises maximum Bond stacks by one and grants 15% additional Minion Damage at maximum stacks. The pictured route also invests in minion damage and Bond-related bonuses. |
| Lich | 24 | Off The Beaten Track (24) grants +4 Support Skill Levels and fixes Support Skill Mana Multipliers at 95%. The remaining nodes add useful damage, speed and resource efficiency. |
God of Machines and Machinist - Building Bond
Boss introduces the Bond mechanic. Every stack increases Minion Damage, Attack and Cast Speed, and survivability. With Magi on the field, stacks accumulate over time; the selected Bond-related nodes help that happen sooner. Burning Aggression adds a fourth maximum stack and another damage bonus once the maximum is reached. It works particularly well in longer encounters where Iris can keep her summons alive and maintain their momentum.
Isomorphic Arms makes the main-hand weapon one of the build's most important pieces. A good Wand or Tin Staff supplies the Magi with relevant affixes and the talent's additional Spell Damage.
Alchemist - Source and the Spirit Magus Package
Our Alchemist tree takes Source for stronger Origin and Empower effects, together with substantial Sealed Mana Compensation for Spirit Magus Skills. That helps accommodate the Erosion Magus five-link and a supportive Frost Magus as the character develops. The extra Empower effectiveness also complements Vigilant Breeze, which gets considerable value from repeated Empower and Enhanced Skill activity.
The tree uses Source; Enhanced Skill chance comes from the relevant minor talents, Growth stages and other available bonuses. As those sources improve, Iris can devote later points and equipment upgrades to stronger Magus damage or recovery. Nourishment of Life remains a useful way to reach higher Growth stages, especially while Isomorphic Arms occupies the slot that Mighty Guard could otherwise fill.
Lich - Off The Beaten Track
Off The Beaten Track gives every linked support a useful level increase. Setting the support Mana multiplier to 95% also makes it easier to plan expensive Spirit Magus links. The flat reservation of individual auras and summons still matters, so combine this talent with Source and the Sealed Mana Compensation already present on gear and other nodes.
3. Active Skills and Support Links
At Timemark 7, a developed Spirit Magus build has several full utility links alongside its damage dealer. We use Summon Erosion Magus as the long-term main summon and keep a supportive Summon Frost Magus where the available Spirit Magus count and Mana reserve allow it. The complete regular five-link supports a working T7 farming setup, while special gems add more advanced options.
[Main Summon] Summon Erosion Magus
The Erosion Magus deals damage through Scattered Mud, Bleak Grass and its Ultimate, World of Thorns. It is the main beneficiary of our Minion Skill Levels, Growth and Enhanced Skill bonuses. Iris merges with her chosen Magus during the developed Vigilant Breeze combat loop.
What matters: Savage Growth rewards Growth; Harvest Time and Friend of Spirit Magi support the Magus mechanics. Servant Damage improves the summoned Magus directly. Elemental Duo expands how many Magi the supported skill can summon and contributes another damage bonus. Friend of Spirit Magi strengthens the Origin effect while increasing the reservation burden.
Frequent Quake (Magnificent) goes into support slot three, replacing Friend of Spirit Magi. During Empower it triggers a Base or Enhanced Skill on the highest-rarity enemy nearby at regular intervals, with Enhanced Skill chance deciding which one is used. Its Empower Duration penalty is significant on weaker rolls. Once you can sustain the Empower window, Frequent Quake gives the developed Magus a more active damage cycle.
In support slot five, Malady (Noble) replaces Elemental Duo. The Empower Skill's automatic trigger interval begins scaling with Minion Cast Speed, giving faster-casting Magi a tangible advantage. Elemental Duo contributes an extra summonable Magus, so check the active summon count and total damage after the change. For a more Erosion-oriented setup, Plague Source (Magnificent) replaces Friend of Spirit Magi in slot three. It strengthens the Erosion Origin effect while imposing a sizable penalty to Sealed Mana Compensation; the aura and summon reservation need enough headroom to cover that cost.
[Growth Utility] Nourishment of Life
Creates a moving area that grants initial Growth to Spirit Magi inside it. The skill is valuable at T7 and remains useful in T8 until advanced gear grants enough Growth by itself. Keep the moving field with the army during tough encounters.
The extra duration and effective coverage increase the time your Magi benefit from the Growth bonus. As the character moves from pack to pack, refresh Nourishment before an elite encounter or during a long boss phase.
[Control and Damage] Dazzling Bloom
Teleports Spirit Magi to a chosen location, switches their attention to a nearby high-rarity target and grants a brief damage bonus against tougher enemies. It is especially helpful when a Magus remains behind as Iris rushes through the map.
Drop the Magi near the boss, then keep their Empower windows active. Dazzling Bloom makes targeting far more consistent in busy arenas.
[Movement] Blink
A responsive way to cross obstacles, evade telegraphed boss attacks and keep Iris in a useful position relative to her summons. Her merge supplies much of the combat identity; Blink handles awkward map geometry and emergency exits.
[Sustain] Life Tonic
Life Tonic remains available for direct recovery while Life regeneration and regain are being developed through equipment and talents.
4. Passive Skills, Auras and Resource Management
Spirit Magi reserve Mana and Iris still wants a strong offensive aura. A developed character gains a great deal from Radical Order. The selected Source and Off The Beaten Track talents help manage a five-linked Erosion Magus, a second summon and their support costs; check the resulting reservation with the complete setup equipped.
[Main Minion Aura] Radical Order / Precise: Radical Order
A substantial bonus to Minion Damage with Minion Aggressiveness that improves target acquisition. Its Precise version grants stronger minion bonuses and additional Minion Max Life, useful for a Vigilant Breeze character managing summon sustain.
[Main Spirit Magus] Summon Erosion Magus
The core summon can carry its five-link while its passive reservation remains part of the total Mana calculation. Track its effective seal after installing support gems, especially those with additional reservation penalties.
[Defensive Magus] Summon Frost Magus
Offers recovery through its Origin of Frost and contributes another Spirit Magus when the cap allows it. The life-regeneration angle is attractive while Nurturing Breeze is developing the shared sustain package.
[Recovery Passive] Rejuvenation
A simple recovery contribution that fits the build's main weakness: the ongoing Life consumption of merged Magi. Its place in the setup depends on which defensive layers the character has already secured.
Nurturing Breeze transfers a share of Iris's Life regeneration and regain bonuses to her merged Magi. Recovery on Iris herself therefore contributes to a much broader purpose than surviving an occasional stray hit. Improve both the amount recovered and the effective frequency of recovery as summon attacks become faster.
5. Leveling and Recommended Progression
The campaign can be handled with an ordinary Spirit Magus setup. From T7 onward, the main questions become how quickly the Magi grow, how often they cast Enhanced Skills and how much Life they recover while merged. We keep the transition gradual so each new part of the build has something useful to support.
Campaign: Fire Magus and Basic Summon Supports
Start with a convenient Spirit Magus, then introduce Fire Magus as the skills become available. Elemental Duo, Savage Growth, Harvest Time and Servant Damage give the early summon a useful working package. Equip Blink and Dazzling Bloom to handle movement and minion positioning. The first rare gear should provide enough defense, Skill Energy and resistances to progress comfortably.
Level 45: Breeze's Whisper
Invest in Enhanced Skill chance through accessible minor talents and supports, then unlock Breeze's Whisper. At this point Iris can still play as a conventional summoner; collect the recovery and talent pieces needed for her first real merged setup. Consistent Enhanced Skills make the later trait interactions much smoother.
Level 60: Begin Merging
Happiest Reunion expands the available Magi. A Frost Magus is a convenient early merge partner because its Origin supports regeneration. Keep Fire Magus dealing damage while you get accustomed to managing the Life cost of Vigilant. It also gives you a practical way to identify missing regeneration long before Timemark 8.
Timemark 7: Move into Erosion Magus
Around the level-75 transition, Nurturing Breeze allows a sturdier merge and makes an Erosion Magus especially appealing. Complete the regular five-link, introduce Nourishment of Life and work toward the pictured four-tree Bond, Source and Isomorphic Arms configuration. Reaching Stage 5 Growth during the encounters you farm is a useful milestone. The main weapons and amulet now begin focusing on Minion Skill Levels, Minion Damage and recovery.
Timemark 8: Improve Enhanced Skills and Sustain
Upgrade the main Erosion Magus, keep Growth high through Nourishment and equipment, and refine Critical Strike Rating where your chosen weapon and necklace actually pass it to summons. Stronger regeneration gives the Magi more room to attack. Introduce Frequent Quake only after comparing its duration penalty with the established regular third support.
Profound: Develop the Ultimate Version
The higher-investment version can add Malady and its Cast Speed interaction, then move into better Prisms, Memories and high-end weapon crafting. A specialist may pursue Malignant for its altered Ultimate behavior. Once a character is investing at this level, compare the full package of attack cadence, 500+ Growth uptime and minion recovery before purchasing another luxury item.
6. Gear Setup and Stat Priorities
A good Erosion Magus item strengthens several parts of the character together. Minion Skill Levels and Growth improve the summons themselves; Life regeneration keeps them active; and Intelligence or critical-related scaling can become substantial with the right conversion equipment. Early rares remain useful for filling defenses and attributes.
- Elemental Resistances and comfortable personal Life / Energy Shield
- Life regeneration, Life regain and related modifiers that Nurturing Breeze shares with the Magi
- Spirit Magus or Minion Skill Levels and enough Skill Energy for the full links
- Initial Growth and bonuses that sustain 500 Growth on serious targets
- Minion Damage, applicable Minion Critical Strike Rating and Cast Speed
- Sealed Mana Compensation to support the complete passive configuration
- Scale of Original Sin equipped: keep Strength and Dexterity equal while investing in Intelligence
- High-value main-hand Wand or Tin Staff affixes inherited through Isomorphic Arms
Recommended Equipment

Weapons - Useful Caster Weapons to Isomorphic Arms Setup
Our T7 version already uses Isomorphic Arms, making the main-hand Wand or Tin Staff especially important. Minions inherit its applicable bonuses, while the talent also grants additional Minion Spell Damage for those weapon types. Seek Minion Skill Levels, compatible minion and spell modifiers, and the recovery or defensive stats your setup needs. Weapon base Attack Speed and base Critical Strike Rating are excluded from the inherited bonuses. A second weapon can support the build with complementary stats.
Transition: Mighty Guard is an option while leveling. Respec to Isomorphic Arms when your main-hand craft and replacement Growth sources are ready. Interlocking Soul remains a useful early weapon.

Necklace - Lady's Tears / Warden's Breastpin / Rare
Lady's Tears offers an accessible progression option. A later Warden's Breastpin provides Minion Skill Levels and a route for character Critical Strike Rating and Damage to help the summons. This creates a strong reason to evaluate critical affixes differently once the necklace is equipped.
A rare amulet with Life recovery, resistances or attributes can bridge the gap, especially while the character is still fixing its core defensive setup.

Helmet - High-Defense Rare / Troublemaker
Use a rare helmet to solve early resistance and durability gaps. Troublemaker is a later offensive option associated with smoother clearing, particularly when the army already has enough recovery to maintain its damage. Additional Minion Skill Levels and useful summon affixes are welcome on advanced crafted alternatives.
The practical helmet choice is the one that fits the rest of your Life and Energy Shield investment.

Body Armour - High-Life or ES Rare / Specialist Chest
A durable rare body armour gives Iris room to handle difficult T7 and T8 mechanics. Seek a large defensive base, resistances and efficient recovery-related affixes. Expensive specialty chests can enter the discussion once the Magi have their core Growth and weapon setup.
A larger defensive pool helps Iris maintain the merge throughout dangerous encounters.

Gloves - Rare with Minion Stats and Recovery
Use gloves for missing resistances, Intelligence, Life/ES and compatible Minion modifiers. The slot is also convenient for improving personal survivability before more offensive equipment displaces defenses elsewhere. A higher-end craft can focus on stronger summon stats after the rest of the equipment is settled.

Belt - Call of Souls / Rare / Priceless Belt
Call of Souls can serve as a functional early legendary. A strong rare or Priceless belt is a natural later home for Life recovery and flexible offensive affixes. Some endgame characters pursue Rally or other additional minion-damage modifiers here; verify the exact affix and prerequisites on the item.
The belt often fixes the recovery and resistance gaps created by more specialized weapons or jewelry.

Rings - Rare Recovery, Attributes and Minion Scaling
Look for Life regeneration, defenses, Intelligence and the attributes needed for your Pactspirit conditions. A pair of well-crafted rares can contribute more to stability than a flashy legendary. Crit-related rolls become more appealing after the appropriate Minion-sharing item is in place.

Boots - Movement and Defensive Rares / Lone Walker
Movement Speed makes positioning Iris and her Magi easier, especially before Dazzling Bloom receives its later improvements. Strengthen Energy Shield or Life and elemental defenses alongside it. Lone Walker belongs on the advanced shopping list for players expanding a more elaborate aura and reservation package.
Advanced boots make the most sense when their special effects complement the current defensive and aura arrangement.
7. Hero Memories, Divinity Slates and Pactspirits
The late-game Spirit Magus package has several avenues for investment. Start with the pieces that raise the Magi's actual combat performance: Growth, Enhanced Skill frequency, effective summon skill levels and enough recovery to keep the merged group working.
Vigilant Breeze trait levels and useful fixed affixes deserve attention. Minion Critical Strike Rating, attack/cast speed and recovery can all contribute; prioritize bonuses that improve the merged Erosion Magus in the actual fight.
Useful options include Spirit Magus levels, Minion Damage, Growth-related effects, critical modifiers and defensive affixes. Extra Growth, Bond Gaining Speed or a useful minion modifier can improve this specific talent setup.
Ethereal Prisms with Growth on compatible Alchemist medium talents become particularly attractive in expensive setups. They can support more consistent 500 Growth and free a utility skill slot when the gear is mature.
Scale of Original Sin is mandatory for this build's intended T7-T8 Ultimate damage. Its Scale of Judgment bonus requires any two attributes to match. We grow Intelligence and balance Strength with Dexterity. Sprite of Silent Vale can help with Growth and Preserver of Eternity with movement in the remaining Pactspirit slots.
Scale of Original Sin - Attribute Management
Scale of Original Sin is a requirement for the finished version presented here. At base level, Scale of Judgment grants 40% additional Spirit Magus Ultimate Damage and Ailment Damage dealt by the Ultimate when any two of Strength, Dexterity and Intelligence are equal. Build Intelligence as usual and keep Strength = Dexterity; even 0 and 0 satisfy the equality when your setup allows it. Check the character sheet after equipping jewellery, Slates and Memories. You can use a temporary Pactspirit during the campaign, but obtain Scale of Original Sin for the intended developed build.
When 500 Growth Becomes Consistent
A midgame character benefits greatly from Nourishment of Life and Savage Growth. More expensive builds can obtain so much Growth from gear, Kismets and Prisms that a different active utility skill becomes useful. That is a natural point to review the Alchemist nodes spent on Enhanced Skill chance and move some of them into stronger offensive or defensive bonuses.
Final Thoughts
Erosion Magus Iris 2 offers relaxed map clearing with an army that keeps attacking as she moves. Our Isomorphic Arms version puts more weight on a properly crafted main-hand weapon, while Nourishment of Life and Vigilant Breeze support the Magi through longer fights. Scale of Original Sin remains essential for the finished Ultimate setup, with equal Strength and Dexterity activating its key bonus.
Once the summon Growth, recovery and main-hand weapon are settled, the remaining upgrades concentrate on faster Empower cycles, stronger Ultimates and Hero Memories. It is a satisfying summoner for players who enjoy watching their Magi do the heavy lifting.
